What is CO₂ extraction?
CO₂ extraction uses carbon dioxide under controlled temperature and pressure to achieve a supercritical state in which it behaves as both a gas and a liquid. In this state, CO₂ selectively dissolves aromatic oils and bioactive molecules from botanicals with exceptional precision.
When the process is complete, the pressure is reduced. The CO₂ reverts to a gas and is recycled, leaving behind a pure, solvent-free botanical extract with minimal heat degradation.
